JASON BARNSDALE MRICS, RICS Registered Valuer
He joined Barnsdales at the end of 2007 as a Partner and became Managing Director in 2009 following 7 successful years at Warner Estate Holdings PLC (a FTSE 250 quoted company) in London where he was Head of Retail and ran a £900m shopping centre fund in a joint venture with Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBoS) delivering superior returns and reporting to the PLC Board, he was also involved with various other funds and was involved with corporate acquisitions; most notably the £120m acquisition of JS Real Estate.
Prior to joining Warner Estate Jason was at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in London and Manchester; he jointly set up the JLL Manchester shopping centre team, prior to this Jason worked in London for Walker Son & Packman and before that he worked at Donaldsons in Leeds.
With over 20 years of experience, he has exceptional property knowledge and incredible market contacts at the highest level within the property industry from advising many of the UK’s leading property companies, developers and institutions. Over the last few years Jason has focused on investment acquisitions and retail developments, advising many national developers and occupiers on schemes including: Aldi, Lidl, Sainsburys, The Co-Op, Heron Foods and Morrisons.
Jason is a member of Revo (previously known as BCSC) and a past founder Northern Board member and Committee Member, he is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC), a Fellow of the Land Institute, a Member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF), an RICS Registered Valuer and a Member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (MARLA).
Jason splits his time between the Doncaster, London and Lincoln offices. He lives in Lincolnshire with his wife Alison and their two children Imogen and Charlie. Outside of work Jason enjoys tinkering with his vintage and classic cars and outdoor pursuits.

JAN M BARRETT
Jan left Whitegates and moved to Lancaster/Turners to run their Lettings and Management business which is based in the centre of Huddersfield.
Jan joined Barnsdales in September 2005 and is now an Associate Director and Head of Residential Property Management.
Jan Lives in Pollington, East Yorkshire with her husband of 38 years, she has a Son and a Daughter and four beautiful granddaughters.
Jan is a keen gardener and grows her own fruit and vegetables which at times are in plenty supply at the office.

He joined Barnsdales in 2015 following 14 years as a principal of his own practice which covered West London, Surrey and Hertfordshire acting for social housing landlords and private clients. Before this he owned Dowse Auctions at Barton-Upon-Humber and prior to that he managed the auction business for Eddisons in Huddersfield and Hebden Bridge.
With over 30 years of experience he has a reputation for dealing with specialist areas of the property profession including Landlord and Tenant long-leasehold disputes (including application to the Property Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal); Section 20 Major Works Consultation Process; Lease extensions and enfranchisement of the freehold; Structural and condition surveys; Right to Acquire Homebuy; Social Housing Staircasing and Social Housing Resale Social and keyworker hostel rental valuations; Lease analysis and Council Tax appeals.
In addition Gary deals with neighbourly matters and disputes including Party Wall Notices and Awards under the 1996 Act; 3m and 6m Notices and Awards under the 1996 Act and Access Orders under the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992. Gary also acts as an Expert Witness.
Gary has been a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2000 and was a founder member of the Scunthorpe and Grimsby RICS Local Association 2013 and is currently running the Nottinghamshire RICS Local Association.
He splits his time between the London, Lincoln and Doncaster offices and is London most weeks. He lives in North Lincolnshire where he is married to Sara with three children, the oldest of which is now married.

Rob joined Barnsdales in August 2016 as Senior Surveyor and is keen to grow the property management and professional services sides of the business, whilst continuing to provide an excellent service to existing clients. He was promoted to an Associate in January 2017.
Rob is Chairman of the RICS Matrics South Yorkshire, an organisation which helps to facilitate CPD and networking events particularly for prospective, qualifying and newly qualified surveyors in the region. He is also a mentor on the Associate RICS membership scheme, helping surveyors working towards their RICS Associate qualification (AssocRICS).
Rob lives in Sheffield and enjoys spending time with his family, walking and is a big fan of Liverpool football club.

He joined Barnsdales in July 2014 having previously worked at Knight Frank in Leeds predominantly carrying out professional valuation work. Prior to that, he spent over 3 years at Ryden again in Leeds working in agency on lettings, disposals, and acquisitions as well as spending time in the professional department. Craig was promoted to an Associate in January 2017. Craig focuses on industrial and retail agency instructions and is based in the Doncaster office, but because of his historic connections is often in Leeds.
Craig is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Emily joined Barnsdales in March 2016, having previously worked at Bilfinger GVA in Birmingham within the Valuation Department. Prior to this Emily studied Property Agency and Management at The Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester , graduating in 2013.
Emily focuses on office agency and supports the industrial and retail agency teams; Emily qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in June 2017.
In her spare time Emily can be found splitting her time between Showjumping and watching Doncaster Knights play rugby.

He joined Barnsdales in 2011 after several successful years working in North Nottinghamashire with One Call Estates where he was Manager & Valuer of both the Worksop and Sutton In Ashfield offices.
Prior to One Call Estates James started his career in the property industry with Haybrook Estate Agents, South Yorkshires largest independent Estate Agent and now part of the Spicerhaart Group, where he was a key member of the New Homes team handling the sale of new homes, off plan sales and development land.
With over 10 years of experience within the residential property sector, James has established strong market contacts both locally and nationally and has a sound knowledge of the residential property market. James lives in Sheffield and outside of work he enjoys a variety of sports, the theatre and spending time catching up with friends. James is undertaking his studies to become Assoc RICS which he aims to complete in the next 12 months.

Outside of work Tom regularly plays football amongst other sports and closely follows the trials and tribulations of Newcastle Utd. Tom is also passionate about cars both classic and modern especially Alfa Romeos.

He launched Ascough Associates in 2009 and provides media and PR consultancy services for a wide range of businesses and other organisations. The classic journalistic training which began at the Gazette’s old offices on North Bridge has equipped him to look after clients with interests from commercial and residential property and urban regeneration to engineering training and award-winning, high-end restaurants.
Over the years he’s covered speeches by world leaders including Margaret Thatcher, George Bush, John Major and Vladimir Putin. Interviewees have included Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Roberta Flack, Michael Lynagh, Lord Coe and Bob Hope.
Phil is based in East Yorkshire and is the current Vice President of the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce. He takes the view that property PR is less about the buildings and more to do with the people who are using them to build their businesses.
